I have been involved in the Flower and Gift industry most of my life. I grew up just outside Levin. My parents had a commercial flower-growing business. They grew just about every flower that it was possible to grow. As I child I didn’t appreciate the life that I had. Only now that I am older do I realise how lucky I was to live in the Horowhenua area and surrounded by Flowers and every pet possible. I worked with flowers from the time I could walk. Helping dis bud Carnations in the greenhouses, planting seeds in cell trays, and picking and bunching the flowers for the Flower Auctions. Sundays we would sell the flowers in Wellington at a Grower’s market. I am very lucky to be able to work in an industry I love.
